AN appeal to raise cash to replace a village hall roof is nearing its target.

Tockholes Parish Council has been raising cash for the roof for many months and the total so far is £16,000.

But parish council chairman Glynn Woon said: “The roof could cost anything between £15,000 and £22,000, so we are aiming for the top figure.

“If there is anything left over we will look at spending it on installing a new heating system in the hall.”
