HASLINGDEN Civic Pride volunteers have tended the plants on Deardengate.
A spokesman for the group said: “Rossendale Council have done the planters on the railings at Deardengate but not the big planters.
“So three volunteers put some bedding plants into planters in an effort to try to brighten up the town centre.
“We sought water for the some of the plants from The Trades Club on Regent Street. Not only were they willing to fill our watering cans, but they supplied us with three cold bottles of cola free of charge, which went down extremely well in this hot weather.
“So we’d like to say thanks very much to the club in Haslingden.”
