THE Sophie Lancaster Foundation is hoping to raise £1,000 from the sale of its branded wristbands by the weekend.
The charity was set up to fight prejudice against people from subcultures following the death of 20-year-old gap year student Sophie, who was attacked for dressing in a goth style in Stubbylee Park, Bacup, in 2007.
The organisation, headed by Sophie’s mum Sylvia Lancaster, has so far raised more than £750 for the recent batch of bands.
