SELECTIVE Licensing schemes in two new areas of Burnley have been introduced this month.
The scheme, which aims to improve landlords management of properties, has been running in Trinity for a number of years.
But on July 15 it was rolled out in the Queensgate and Gannow wards. Coun John Harbour, portfolio holder for housing and environment, said: “Application packs have recently been sent to landlords and agents in these areas.
“There is a discount of £100 for complete applications received by October 30, 2014. We are currently recruiting additional staff for the team.”
Speaking about the scheme in Trinity, Coun Harbour said: “Regular meetings are taking place with both residents and agencies in order to highlight and tackle any anti-social behaviour caused by private tenants.”
