PUPILS from primary schools have been learning internet safety from older students at Haslingden High School.

The specially written interactive drama was presented to Year 6 pupils from Britannia Primary School, St James in Haslingden and Northern Primary.

Year 10 pupils had written a drama about a student who lied about her age online and so did the adult messaging her.

As the scenes were played out the audience was asked to consider options and decide how the characters should react to situations.

Katie Hopwood, 14, said: “The drama was part of our theatre in education GCSE work.

“It is a serious story and as it is played out it brings the Internet safety message across in a good way.”

Leon Watson, 11, from Northern Primary School, Bacup, said: “It was amazing. I thought it was a very professional production and got the message across well.”
