TWO cars were stolen after thieves entered a nursing home and a house and snatched two sets of keys yesterday morning.

Two white men, one in his teens, entered Healey Lodge Nursing Home in Manchester Road between 2.15am and 2.30am by climbing in an unlocked first floor window.

After taking a handbag on the burglars stole the keys to a purple Rover City, valued at around £5,000.

Earlier, the thieves targeted a semi-detached house in nearby Cleveland Road, entering through an unlocked door between midnight and 2am.

After stealing a set of car keys on the living room sofa, the offenders stole a silver Nissan Qashqai.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious to call them on 101.
