COUNCILLORS in Colne are to discuss the Spring Gardens Mill site at a meeting tomorrow.
In a report to councillors, a Pendle Council spokesman said: “The site owners have confirmed that the demolition contractors are due off site by August 1. The site should therefore be tidied by then.
“The owners have several ideas for the longer-term development of the site which they wish to discuss with the council once they have firmed up their ideas.
“As things stand, therefore, demolition is ongoing and is due to be completed in a month’s time.
“After that, the owners will discuss their future intentions for the site. It is not recommended that the site goes on the ‘problem sites’ list as there is progress on its lawful demolition and the developer has indicated a willingness to discuss future development plans.
“It is felt, however, that a review of the site should be undertaken in two months’ time.”
