THE owner of a house in Barnoldswick that has been empty for eight years is to be asked to tidy up the rear yard.
Pendle Council officers could serve an enforcement notice on the property in Mosley Street if that does not happen.
Neil Watson, Pendle Council’s planning and building control manager, said: “It is understood that the property has been vacant for around eight years and that it is presently unoccupied.
“Outwardly, the building is in a reasonable condition and there are no signs of defects on its roof or walls.
“The rear yard is, however, in an overgrown and unkempt condition with some building material such as a pipe having been left on it.
“The removal of the material and vegetation would leave the site in an acceptable condition.
“Whilst the property has been left vacant, it is not causing known issues in the area and provided the rear area is tidied, the building would not be causing any detriment as it stands.”
