PEOPLE over 50 are invited to join Brierfield and Reedley Senior Citizens’ Association.

The group is open to new members for just £5 a year.

Jean Hartley, secretary of the group, said: “We have about 90 members. Some live in Nelson, Barrowford and Colne. Anyone over 50 years old can join our club.

“We run trips to about six destinations during the year on a 48-seat executive coach, and we always have the final trip to Blackpool Illuminations at the end of October.

“We have bingo on Monday and Thursday evenings. Members can also play snooker and there’s sequence dancing on Wednesdays for 50p, and board games on Thursday afternoons. We also have a Christmas party.”
