A CHARITY set up after the death of 17-year-old Oswaldtwistle teen Lauren Johnson has held its first event.

Almost £200 was raised during a function at Tricky’s Pub, in Thwaites Road, where hundreds of visitors took part in a raffle and karaoke competition.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We had a fantastic turn out and a great night. We look forward to our other charity events.”

The £187 raised will go towards opening up a haven in Accrington to provide solace to people suffering from mental health issues.

Lauren, who lived in Blackburn Road, died after falling from the top of Accrington’s Arndale Centre, in Union Street, early last month.
