FIVE students from Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form entered the WorldSkills Show 2014 competition.
The students, all from the college’s beauty therapy course, were Fiona Read, 18, Hayley Mackay, 24, Katie Strettle, 32, Rakshanda Rahoof, 22, and Rebecca Furmston, 20.
A spokesman for the college said: “WorldSkills UK champions and drives excellence in workplace skills through competition. The show endeavours to stimulate ambition and aspiration in young people, to prove how expert skills generate a more productive workforce, and to demonstrate exceptional nationwide talent to a global stage. The beauty therapy competition focused on the role and tasks of a beauty therapist, including carrying out a range of treatments reflecting both current and traditional beauty therapy treatments.”
