‘DAMAGED and inoperable’ windows at Oak Hill Mansion, in Manchester Road, Accrington, will be replaced, if planners agree.
Documents lodged with the council said some of the windows at the Grade II listed stone house need to be replaced.
The planning document said: “The proposed will have no impact on access to the site. However, it will allow elderly residents to operate the secondary glazing units and primary windows.”
The mansion at Oak Hill was built in 1793 by Thomas Hargreaves, owner of the Broad Oak Print Works.
The building has been extensively refurbished internally over several years.
It is owned by the Abbeyfield Society, a charity providing residential care for the elderly. The mansion now features 12 luxury apartments.
