PLANS to construct 32 houses in Copster Green have been refused by Ribble Valley Borough Council.
The plan for land in Albany Drive, Salesbury, was objected to by Salesbury Parish Council before the Planning and Development Committee meeting on Thursday.
The parish council said that the proposed development would ‘undermine the character of the area due to the removal of the green open spaces that characterise the settlement.'
The decision came after an action group was set up to fight large planning applications for Copster Green and the surrounding area. The Facebook page of ‘Keep Copster Green Green’ has so far attracted more than 150 backers.
