MORE than 400 people will be taking part in Bacup and Stacksteads Carnival’s largest procession since its relaunch in 2010 this weekend.
Four schools, two from Bacup and two from Stacksteads, will join the parade between Bacup Hub and Stubbylee Park as it travels through the area on Sunday. The route for the annual event will be shorter and flatter than it has been previously to avoid steep hills and bends.
The Bacup and Stacksteads Organising Committee has employed a private company to marshal the parade, which will leave the Hub in Burnley Road at 11.15am.
