A FLAG celebrating the armed forces was raised at Clitheroe Castle.
Ribble Valley mayor Michael Ranson attended a ceremony at the landmark to mark the occasion.
The flag has also been raised at famous places and government buildings across the UK, including 10 Downing Street and the Ministry of Defence.
Mr Ranson said: “The respect and appreciation shown on Armed Forces Day by people up and down the country goes a long way in sustaining the high morale of the armed forces.
“We are delighted and honoured to be flying the Armed Forces Day flag.”
