A SHORTAGE of defibrillators, which can deliver a life-saving ‘shock’ to cardiac arrest patients, could be costing thousands of lives every year, research suggests.
Researchers in Hampshire found fewer than two per cent of heart attack victims were treated with the device before an ambulance arrived, a figure described as ‘disappointingly low’.
