Ghost mystery
NHS England says it does not know how many ‘ghost’ patients there are in East Lancashire.
It was responding to a Freedom of Information request, which asked for the number of patients registered with a GP practice who have not contacted their surgery since 2009. NHS England, which commissions GP services, said it did not hold the information.
