COUNTY health chief Sakthi Karunanithi has urged residents to take up the offer of a free NHS health check.
The director of public health at Lancashire County Council said: “We are encouraging people to take up the offer of a free NHS health check when their local GP writes to them.
“This can help identify issues such as high cholesterol or blood pressure.
“People can easily reduce their risk of heart disease by making some life changes that will lower blood pressure and cholesterol.”
