A NEW professional body of teachers could seek to advise the government.
A proposed independent group would advise on the curriculum, assessment and school inspection, in a bid to claw back power from the state.
This week the final blueprint for the College of Teaching will be published, outlining proposals greater autonomy for the teaching profession in the UK.
Consultation on the new body took place at the end of last year.
