Play park's opening ceremony
AN opening ceremony has been planned for a new £60,000-plus play area for Hapton.
Youngsters and parents have been invited to the launch of the new site, on the former bowling green in Hapton Recreation Ground tomorrow from 11am.
The new play area includes a zip wire, a six-metre high space net and a half-pipe skate ramp, together with swings, slides and roundabouts.
Funding totalling £38,972 was awarded by the Veolia Environmental Trust through the Landfill Communities Fund while £22,693 has been contributed by Hapton Parish Council and the borough council’s ward opportunities fund.
