Hyndburn MP Graham Jones has written to the Coal Authority about a tunnel collapse in Baxenden.
The gardens of five households are still off limits after a section of the 150-year-old Inch Mine caved in off Manchester Road, leaving a 25 feet deep hole. And three families were evacuated for almost a week, whilst workers in harnesses pumped more than 120 tonnes of rubble into the hole.
The Coal Authority could be forced to pay compensation to the homeowners if they cannot sell their homes. A spokesman declined to comment further, asked about the hole.
