STAFF at a textiles firm raised almost £6,000 to support local children and young people.
Workers from Herbert Parkinson, in Monton Road, Darwen, did a sponsored bike ride, curtain sale, pop-up charity shop and a pound day raffle.
They presented a cheque for £5,792 to Child Action North West at its Wilpshire headquarters. Chief executive Sue Cotton said: “We are very grateful to everyone at Herbert Parkinson for their generous donations which have helped us to raise much needed funds to support our work with the most vulnerable families in the area.
“We are very pleased that we have been chosen as the charity of the year for a second year and look forward to working with the team on a variety of fun activities and events.”
