A CAR collided with a bus in Nelson town centre causing traffic chaos yesterday.

The black Audi saloon was in collision into a white Tyrer shuttle bus, which was carrying five passengers. The drivers and passengers were questioned by police following the incident in Manchester Road at noon.

A police spokeswoman said the damage to the vehicles was minor, though the case had been handed to the hate crime unit.

Carl Pawson, who works at Boyce’s firearms dealer in Manchester Road, said: “I’ve seen people drive towards oncoming traffic to do U-turns, which I suspect is how this happened.”
