AN 82-year-old Nelson-born man died following complications for a total hip replacement, an inquest at Blackburn heard.
James Moran, 82, of Meadow Close, Reedley, was admitted to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for the procedure, which was undertaken on December 6, Blackburn Coroner’s Court was told.
But his condition deteriorated after the operation and he died in the early hours of December 10, an inquest heard.
Blackburn coroner Michael Singleton, who was told the cause of death was linked to post-operative bleeding and the blood-clotting disorder coagulopathy, adjourned the hearing until April 24.
