PLANS to build a two-storey annex building for rehabilitating injured and infirm police officers have been passed.
The proposal for St Michaels Lodge, Northcote Road in Langho was approved by Ribble Valley Borough Council.
The application was submitted by North West Police Benevolent Fund which opened the centre in September 2010. The early 20th Century lodge was taken over by the force’s charity in 2008 and had been the village primary school from 1911 to 1983.
The centre, which has en-suite bedrooms and a gymnasium and physiotherapy treatment room, is used by retired and injured officers from Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
