AROUND 70 jobs will be created when a Burnley business park is brought back to life, the town’s MP has said.
Gordon Birtwistle said firms relocating to Vulcan Works, in Accrington Road, was ‘great news for Burnley’.
The Lancashire Telegraph revealed yesterday that four companies planned to relocate to the Rosegrove site, formerly home to Brian Rourke & Co ironworks.
Mr Birtwistle said the mystery flagship occupant was a manufacturing company coming to Burnley for the first time.
He said: “I believe it’s a manufacturing company - an engineering company - which will create in excess of 70 jobs. It a major company coming to Burnley for the first time. I’m absolutely delighted - it’s a daily occurence now that companies are coming to Burnley.”
Maintenance firm Service Alliance and Shaun Kendal Joinery have already confirmed they will move to the complex later this year.
