ST Stephen’s Primary School in Tockholes is to reopen the kitchen from February 24, to serve cold dinners.
The school closed its kitchen 18 months ago due to financial constraints and children had been enjoying hot dinners at nearby pub The Rock.
But from Friday, the pub will no longer provide food for the children.
Headteacher Dominic James said: “I am still not ruling out reopening the kitchen in September and the governors have decided that from February 24, we will open the kitchen to serve cold lunches. “We are also applying for funding to improve the kitchen.
“On behalf of the staff, pupils, governors and parents I would like to thank The Rock for the outstanding job that they have done for St Stephen’s.”
