HOSPITAL chief Val Bertenshaw said she expects to meet a key performance target for orthopaedic surgery by the end of March.
The number of patients waiting for orthopaedic procedures at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, including hip and knee replacements, stood at 107 in December, against a ‘tolerance level’ of 57.
Mrs Bertenshaw, the trust’s director of operations, said: “There’s no reason why we can’t recover. We’ve done a lot of work with the new clinical director.”
