THE scaffolding is up, signalling a new future for residents of Blackburn’s Stonyhurst flats.

It is part of a major re-roofing project being carried out by Twin Valley Homes to replace the original 1960s roof tiles, for more than 300 homes on the Montague Street estate.

Angela Stuttard, head of asset management, said: “The work is part of an ongoing, multi-million pound programme of work to maintain and improve homes in Blackburn and Darwen, and is due to be completed in May.”
