Guilty plea to assault
A MAN could be jailed after admitting assault. Benjamin Fairburn, 30, of The Castle, Colne pleaded guilty at Burnley Crown Court to inflicting grievous bodily harm on Amy Shaw, last December.
The hearing was told the defendant's basis of plea was ‘completely at odds’ with the victim’s statement. He was bailed until March 14 for the trial.
