EXPERIENCED press photographer Steve Pendrill will be lifting the lid on the journalists behind the camera lens when he visits Blackburn Central Library on Wednesday.

With more than 26 years experience, he will talk about how his profession has altered dramatically over recent years.

He will explain how while these days press photographers are often all lumped together as ‘paparazzi’, in many cases, pictures speak louder than words and the skilled cameraman can add an extra dimension to the cold news report on the page.

He will reveal how they often work in difficult conditions, requiring extreme patience to get just the right shot.

Lancaster-based Mr Pendrill will discuss the fascinating people he met and the hilarious situations he ended up in Admission for the lecture which starts at 2pm is £1 and to book a ticket, call 01254 661221 or email library@blackburn.gov.uk.
