AN MP has warned party leaders against blocking an 11 per cent pay rise worth £7,600 for backbenchers.
Chorley MP and deputy Commons speaker Lindsay Hoyle was speaking about a pay increase recommended by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.
Mr Hoyle said party leaders should not dictate ‘what is good for backbenchers’.
