THE state of children’s teeth in Blackburn with Darwen is continuing to improve, borough health boss Mohammed Khan will report to today’s full council forum.
Coun Khan said: “A decade ago, Blackburn with Darwen children had among the worst teeth in the country.
“A national survey by Public Health England in September shows a significant improvement in the dental health of local children, with the average number of decayed, missing, or filled teeth, in five-year-olds falling from 2.4 to 1.6 between 2008 and 2012, an improvement of 39 places in the local authorities league table.”
