PHILLIP Shadoe Smalley, 22, of Lonsdale Street, Accrington, was given a six-month conditional discharge, and ordered to pay £11 compensation and £65 costs, by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to two charges of shoplifting from Home Bargain, in Accrington.
Andrew Church-Taylor, defending, said Smalley had been living rough at the time, and they had been committed out of desperation.
