THREE Accrington men have been sent to Burnley Crown Court on charges arising from an incident in Scaitcliffe Street on August 26.
Iftikhar Ali Ashgar, 41, of George Street, and Araf Hussain, 42, of Stevenson Street East, are both charged with assaulting Zafar Iqbal. Ashgar is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a snooker cue, and Hussain with possessing a snooker cue and a cricket bat.
Zafar Iqbal, 48, of College Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assaulting Araf Hussain and possession of a crow bar, in a public place. He was sent to the Crown Court for sentence.
