A TOWN centre thief has been given a suspended prison sentence by magistrates after striking twice in Burnley.
David Gerald Harward was jailed for 16 weeks for stealing a charity collection tin from a veterinary clinic.
He was already on a suspended sentence for carrying out a sneak theft at Mojito’s, in St James Street, when he took a tablet computer worth £2,000 and camera.
His latest offending saw Harward break into Poundstretchers, with intent to steal, on September 23, Pennine magistrates heard.
Earlier on August 30 he had trespassed at Burnley Town Hall, with intent to steal.
Haward, who admitted both offences, was also given 12 months probation supervision by magistrates, including a nine-month drug dependency treatment requirement.
