ENDURANCE runner Dave Moretta dropped into Hyndburn Fire Station as he continued his challenge of running 18 marathons in 18 days.
The inspirational effort by the Ribchester athlete is aimed at raising money for the Royal British Legion and focusing attention on the annual poppy appeal, as previously reported by the Lancashire Telegraph.
Firefighters offered their support for Dave, who wants to remember soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, five of whom he served alongside while he was in the Army.
He hopes to raise £10,000 towards the organisation’s declared aim to ‘provide practical care, advice and support to serving members of the armed forces, veterans of all ages and their families’.
