SMOKE could be seen from the M65 following a fire at an industrial skip in Nelson yesterday morning.
The skip in Turner Road, Lomeshaye, was filled with paper and refuse and firefighters battled the blaze from 5.47am.
Kevin Birchall, acting crew manager, said: “Deliberate fires can cost lives.
“They also put a strain on fire service resources that may be required elsewhere.”
