BURNLEY residents are being encouraged to help set up their own neighbourhood watch schemes.
PCSO Dave Johnson, who has helped set up schemes with the help of local volunteers, said: “Neighbourhood watch schemes are a vital tool to help the police and communities to reduce crime.
“We have many schemes operating across the borough and I appeal to anyone who wishes to join to contact their local policing team.
“Schemes are not solely about reducing crime, but they are also about fostering and growing communities who care about where they live and take action to improve the neighbourhood.”
Anybody interested in setting up a neighbourhood watch should contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45.
