CHILDREN learned about how mountain rescue teams save lives.
Year one pupils at Coates Lane Primary School, in Kirkstall Drive, Barnoldswick, were visited by members of the Rossendale and Pennine Mountain Rescue Team as part of their River Deep Mountain High topic.
Headteacher Graeme Lucas said in a newsletter to parents: “During this visit, year one learned all about how the team carried out rescues and found out about how dogs are trained and used for this purpose. It was very exciting for the children as all the equipment was brought onto the school field and some pretend rescues took place.”
