A CLEAN-up campaign in the Gannow area of Burnley has been declared a success by organisers.

Housing landlord Calico was behind the spruce-up, which included clearing fly-tipped waste from Hargrove Avenue and on land behind Sycamore Avenue.

Kathryn Davies, Calico’s neighbourhood officer in Gannow, said: “It was great to see people take time out to help improve their area.

“Customers were surprised at how much of a difference the event made in such a short space of time.”
