A MESSAGE to new mums has seen women urged to remember that breastfeeding is welcome in Hyndburn.
Pam Barton, Hyndburn Council’s cabinet member for health, said Hyndburn welcomed breastfeeding mothers just as much as large towns and cities.
She said: “You don’t see breastfeeding as often in Accrington as you do elsewhere, but it’s welcome here and the council supports it.
“Remember it’s illegal to ask a breastfeeding mother to leave a public place”.
Coun Barton said the council was supporting breastfeeding as part of measures to reduce infant mortality.
