Police have said what is thought to have been a fire at Blackpool Tower has been confirmed as orange netting blowing in the wind.
In a statement on Thursday afternoon (December 28), Lancashire Police said: "Our helicopter has flown over the tower and there is no fire. We can confirm what can be seen is orange netting.
"One man has been arrested on suspicion of Breach of the Peace and is being transported to custody."
It comes as there were reports of a speculated fire at the top of the iconic Blackpool tower earlier in the day.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at the historical landmark.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service previously said it had six fire engines in attendance on the promenade.
The tower had been evacuated, a member of staff told the PA news agency.
