Hyndburn Council's recycling challenge (L.T. April 12) makes me despair! I have asked the council’s recycling department on several occasions for a green wheelie bin so that I can recycle my garden waste, but each time have been refused one.
Instead I have been instructed to fill sacks and request their collection.
The last time I did so, the sacks were collected along with the general household waste and thrown into the back of the bin lorry, to go for landfill presumably.
I may as well have just put them in the bin myself.
Is the council really serious about increasing the amount of waste recycled?
If so, I would be interested to know why it is obstructing my efforts?
