How come buses can be laid on for football crowds?
I thought public transport had been cut back.
If they can supply buses for football fans they can supply more buses for residents in Blackburn and Darwen who need public transport to get anywhere.
On Oakenhurst Farm Estate in Lower Darwen, we have no buses at all. Most of us do have cars but we still need buses as many people work in town.
And schoolchildren have to walk up past the motorway to the main road in Darwen to get buses.
This is not acceptable as they have to cross the very busy slip-road that leads on to the motorway.
We need a bus route so anyone living on this estate has access to Blackburn, Darwen, and even the hospital without using their cars.
Most towns have buses stopping at housing estates, so why don’t we? They must have plenty of spare buses if they can afford to use them for football crowds.
