IN relation to your article (LT, February 13) about the electronic notice board in Burnley bus station, this information board is of paramount importance to bus users to enable them to check on the times of their buses and what stands they depart from.
I fail to see why it costs the ridiculous amount of £4,000 to maintain it.
How on earth do they come to this figure?
What about the electronic boards on Yorkshire Street and Colne Road?
All they say is “be careful when using the roads in winter” or words to that effect.
Any person with a bit of intelligence does not need such things.
How much do they cost?
Let’s start getting value for money from our our council tax for a change and get some benefits to the people of the town.
Get this board working again ASAP!
B Whittaker (Mr), Burnley
