When I look at the photograph of the old police house (LT, July 15) I don’t feel it does it justice.

The doorway is very high, and indeed majestic and regal looking.

I used to walk home at night down King Street. I always noticed this building, feeling perhaps it should have some special history or connections to old Blackburn.

I just felt then that maybe it was waiting to be saved.

Obviously it takes a lot of money to save a building of that quality.

I do realise in today’s world that all can’t be saved, but it is sad to see it all go.
