I keep reading in your columns that the idea of reopening the Colne-Skipton railway line is on track, as it were, and a lot of councillors, politicians and rail fans are really confident that the line could yet reopen in years to come.
It is nearly 40-odd years since the line closed to trains and, from what I see when I drive through Colne to Skipton, the track bed is still there in places.
But a lot of industrial units have appeared, in particular in the Earby area where the line once ran.
No doubt plans are afoot to still “get around that problem” and hopefully the dream of the line opening to trains again is still alive.
I know a lot of effort has gone into everything, but my own thoughts are, I’ll believe it when I see it.
