ReGARDING the report about groups being formed to fight plans for thousands of new homes in the Ribble Valley (LT, July 13), I have been on the waiting list for seven years with Ribble Valley Homes, and for two of those years we have been in need of a three- bedroomed house due to having a boy and a girl.
We live in Billington and need to stay in Billington or Whalley: the kids are settled at school and pre- school and I help my mum care for my grandparents and she looks after my kids while I’m at work.
More housing is a good idea as long as the council is going to buy some of them to rent out to people from the Ribble Valley instead of giving them to people who don’t live here or have any connections in the area.
