DARWEN – no grass being cut, the police station under threat, no automated announcements at the railway station as there have been for two or three years – they even have an auto PA at Ramsgreave but when you hear the stops, Darwen is missed out.
The old steam engine in front of India Mill: when they will finish painting the top is anyone’s guess.
Then there are the boarded-up pubs and empty shops.
Mayor Karimeh Foster’s comments regarding the new Blackburn Market were that it was ‘the final piece of the jigsaw’.
With respect, we pay full council tax and with all the cuts on services, I think there are a lot of pieces of the jigsaw still not in place, and quite a few missing.
And I will still have to pay my full council tax bill.
